Frequently asked questions

For online applications the digital file is 350×350 pixels, up to 300 KB. The head (chin to crown) should measure about 70–80% of the photo. The system sizes it for you automatically.

Plain light or white. Take the photo against any background — the system removes it and puts in the right colour.

Not allowed (portal: 'without spectacles').

Yes. Tick “Baby or young child” before uploading. Lay your baby on a plain sheet and photograph from above — the system relaxes the rules that don’t apply to babies, such as eyes open.
