Frequently asked questions

The photo must be 35×45 mm. For online applications the digital file is 900×1200 pixels, up to 5 MB. The head (chin to crown) should measure 36 mm. The system sizes it for you automatically.

Plain, light-coloured, strong contrast, no shadows (paper form: light but not white; pale grey/blue preferred). Take the photo against any background — the system removes it and puts in the right colour.

Prescription allowed if not tinted or thick/heavy-framed; no glare; sunglasses not allowed.

Yes. Tick “Baby or young child” before uploading. Lay your baby on a plain sheet and photograph from above — the system relaxes the rules that don’t apply to babies, such as eyes open.
